A Brief History of the High Five

It may seem like high fives have always existed, but the fact is, the first high five occurred relatively recently, during a Dodgers game in 1977.


This short film tells the story of a celebratory gesture and the tumultuous life of the man who made it happen. It takes audiences back to the spontaneous moment between Dusty Baker and  rookie Glenn Burke and tells the story of how the celebratory gesture spread throughout the sports world.
