Treacher Collins syndrome is a condition that affects the development of bones and other tissues of the face. The signs and symptoms of this disorder vary greatly, ranging from almost unnoticeable to severe. Most affected individuals have underdeveloped facial bones, particularly the cheek bones, and a very small jaw and chin (micrognathia).
This condition affects an estimated 1 in 50,000 people.
Jono Lancaster has been living with Treacher Collins’ syndrome but he’s managed to live a very full and happy life. He refuses to be limited by his condition and want to inspire people with similar disorder. He flew from Yorkshire to Australia so that he could meet a child with Treacher Collins syndrome in hopes that he could inspire that kid and his family to live a happy life.
